Allison “Hueman” Torneros grew up in the Bay Area and received a BFA in Design and Media Arts from UCLA in 2008. Since then, she has exhibited in galleries and painted murals internationally. Whether she is painting delicate visions on canvas, or crushing massive walls with a spray can, she often draws on the human condition to create freestyle mash-ups of the abstract and figurative, the beautiful and grotesque. She is interested in creating ethereal motion and dimension on otherwise flat, two-dimensional surfaces. Known for her bold juxtapositions of abstraction and portraiture, her work has been featured on CNN, Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, LA Weekly, and other high-profile media outlets.
